Newspaper obituary in file; Arlene Rhamy, the daughter of Andy and Sanna Thompson Anderson was born Dec. 29, 1910 in Montgomery Co. Iowa, and passed away at the Rosary Hospital in Corning Iowa, March 3, 1984, following a long illness. She had been a resident at Colonial Manor before entering the hospital. She was 73 years, 2 months, and 4 days old.
She was united in marriage Dec. 28, 1929 at Strand, in Adams County, Iowa, to Cecil J. Rhamy, who preceded her in death Aug. 6, 1970. Two sons and two daughters were born to bless this union.
Survivors include two sons, Duane Rhamy of Villisca and Bob Rhamy of Corning Iowa; two daughters, Mrs Jim,Joan, Haley of Nodaway and Mrs. Dave, Patricia, Forschler of Colfax Iowa; her mother, Mrs. Sanna Anderson of Colonia l Manor, Corning; 19 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 8 step-great grandchildren; and three sisters, Mrs Paul, Mildred, Odson and Mrs. Bert, Bernice, Miller, both of Corning and Mrs Mike, Shirley, Kimball of Spokane, Washington; other relatives and many friends.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her father, a sister, and a dtr-in-law.
Mrs. Rhamy spent most of her lifetime in Adams Co., Iowa. She was a member of the Corning Christian church and was very active in all of the church activities.
Funeral services were held at the Goodwin-Lindsay Funeral Home in Corning, March 6 at 1:30 pm, conducted by Rev. Jack Cutbirth. Interment was i n the Nodaway Cem., Nodaway, Iowa.
Music was provided by Jean Nevius, organist, and Doris Swartz vocalist. Pallbearers were grandsons, Larry, Gary, David, Tom, and Tim Rhamy and Mike and Mark Forschler. Honorary bearers were Bill Cleaver, Rick Bissell, David Swartz, Craig Smith, Jan Gage, and Rob Williams.
A memorial has been established for the Rosary Hospital or the Corning Christian Church.
