Julie was killed in a one car roll over, between Shoshone and Twin Falls, Idaho. The driver in her car was not wearing a seat belt, he survived. She was wearing one, and died from massive injuries received in the wreck. She was a store dept. manager.

Born 7/16/1964 in Pocatello, she attended school in Twin Falls. She later attended Shoshone High School and graduated from Dietrich high school in 1982. She served as senior class secretary and was secretary of the teen' s club in Gooding in her high school years. She married David L. Staffen on April 16th 1988, in Shoshone.
She was manager of the mens department at Shopko in Twin Falls at the time of her death.
Surviving are; her husband of Twin Falls; her parents, Mike and Sharon Galindo of Shoshone; two brothers Dennis A. Jensen and Curtis Lee Jensen, both of Shoshone; one sister Beckie Lackey, of Great Falls Montana; one half sister, Pixie Sanborn of Missoula, Mont; her maternal grandmother, Myrtle Thompson of Boise; her paternal grandfather, Fawn Jensen of Salt Lake City, Utah; and her paternal grandmother, Rosetta Philips of Pocatello. She was preceded in death by her father.
Services will be held at the Shoshone First Baptist Church Wednesd ay at 5 p.m. with the Rev. Ray Reeder officiating. Burial will be in the Shoshone cemetery under direction of the Bergin Funeral Chapel of Shoshone.

She attended grade school in Twin Falls, Idaho and high school in Shoshone, Idaho.
In 1982 she graduated from Dietrich High School, which she had attended in her senior year. She was Senior Class Secretary and worked on the school newspaper.
Throughout high school she belonged to the teen club, which gave parties for the elderly, had adoptive grandparents, and made gifts for orphans. Showing one of the main traits of Julie's character---caring about others.
Julie was always bringing home people who didn't fit in well with others, because she wanted to help them. She also dragged home any stray animals she found.
On April 16, 1988, Julie married David Staffen in a double wedding with her sister Beckie Jensen Lackey, who married Michael Lackey. She looked forward to a happy future with her new home and husband.
However, on July 1, 1988, she was killed in a tragic automobile accident in Jerome county.
She is survived by her husband, David Staffen; parents, Mike and Sharon Galindo; brothers, Dennis and Curtis Jensen; sister Beckie Lackey; maternal grandmother, Myrtle Thompson; paternal grandmother, Rosetta Phillips; paternal grandfather, Fawn Jensen; and many other relatives and friends.
Julie's favorite things were people. She loved being with people and with her family on outings. She always wanted to make everyone happy. She loved music, dancing, and roses.
My memories of Julie are of a sweet, loving, and caring little girl. Once a year for many years, all the family children and grandchildren of Bert and Myrtle Thompson met at Hagerman Idaho, and enjoyed being together for a week. Julie was one of these grandchildren. My children and Sharon's children grew up together, with a close, loving family relationship. Julie was like one of my own children.
Julie was always a thoughtful and loving girl. In her life, she went out of her way to help anyone she felt needed a friend.
We have gathered here today to pay a loving tribute to the memory of Julie Staffen who passed into the fullness of immortal life, and now abides in the mercy and care of our Heavenly Father.
All of you who care, have come together in loving sympathy, faith, and hope. The family thanks you for the support and love you have shown, just by your presence today.
God permitted us to have Julie's loving presence with us for a short time. We should be grateful for this time, but, her earthly work being done, God called her home, to a far better place. Jesus said, " I am the resurrection and the life, whosoever believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live." In the hour of Julie's victory, we should rejoice that we can see far enough into the future to know that all is well with her. She is but a step in advance of us, and we thank our Creator that we had her and loved her for a while.
Jesus further said, " In my father's house are many mansions, if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself, that where I am, there you may be also."

Our Father, whose love has created us and given us the high, and solemn privilege of life, we thank you for the assurance that thou hast given us in the eternal life, which lies beyond death. In these moments, as we join together in solemn tribute and loving memory; deepen our sympathy, increase our faith, and brighten our hope. May we not mourn as those for whom there is no hope. Rather may we look forward with assurance to a morning's joy with thee. We thank thee for the life of her, beloved by us and dear to the hearts of many, for her thoughtfulness of others, for her gentle heart and hands, for her example of lowly courtesy, we give thee greatful thanks. Bless and console all who are precious to her, and unto whom she is dear. Inspire us with patience and fortitude, that together, in friendliness and love, we may help to lift the burden of woe from thy bereaved children.
