If you wish to travel to this gard you go to Dale and then drive to Fosse, This is the first farm in Bergadalen. In 1978 there was a road built on SE to connect these 12 farms with car travel. The large river that flows through is fed by the glacial melt from the high mountains to the north and the south.
In the tax record of 1614 is the first mention of "Lij". In 1691 the large gard was divided in övre and nedra (upper and lower). Our family came from the lower gard with land on both sides of the river. The Apostelkryrkja in Bergen owned the gard in 1647. Then shares were sold and the land was owned by the family and they paid the tazes. Lie is the third farm in from Fosse.
Ingebjorg died young and Odd married again and moved to another farm and had more children. Nils and his grandfather farmed the gard together and the following taxes were paid. 1714 - Leding, tax for Naval Defense: 1715 - dagskatten, this is the regular tax: 1718 - 1722 - krigsstyr or war tax. In 1723 they paid tax on 13 cows, 7 young stock, 24 sheep and 2 horses.
