Obituary; Minnie Culver was born at Valisca, Montgomery County, Iowa, April 26, 1889. And died 5/16/1930 at the Bismarck hospital at the age of 41 yrs. 26 days. She was united in marriage to Charles Brown in December 1907. To this union 7 children were born. She moved to North Dakota with her husband in 1909,locating on a homestead south of Carson. In 1919 they moved to Merrill, Wisconsin. Her husband was accidently killed in 1920 while employed for Milwaukee Railway Copmpany, in Chicago. She then moved with her family of 7 children to Carson, North Dakota. On 4/14/1923 she was united in marriage to Theodore C. Thompson., an old acquaintance who formerly resided in Iowa. To this union 3 children were born. She was a kind and loving wife and mother, who was highly respected by her neighbors, and many friends. She was a lady of pleasing personality, and a good natured disposition. Death was due to an operation for appendicitis which was performed about 2 years ago. During the past two years she has been a most patient sufferer. Being confined at the hospital most of the time. She was taken to the hospital last December, and at times seemed to be recovering, and would soon be able to return home. But her condition took a change for the worse, and all that trained nurses and skilled physicians could do was of no avail. She was conscious up to the last and realized that she was to pass away calling her husband, children, and other relatives to the bedside to bid them goodby, admonishing them to live an upright christian life. She closed her eyes and passed away with a peaceful smile on her face. Left to mourn her death are her husband Theo. C. Thompson, her mother and 10 children, 5 boys and five girls, they are Gladys Brown,age 22, Leola Brown age 20, Grace Brown age 18, Thelma Brown age 16, Glen Brown age 14, Herbert and Harold Brown, twin brothers, age 12 years, Luella Thompson, age 6 yrs., Theo. C. Thompson Jr. age 4 years and Melvin age 2 yrs. Two sisters Mrs John Stevenson of Flasher, and Mrs. Norman DeLange of St. Paul, Minn., and three brothers, John of Sciola, Iowa, Ralph of Mott, and Fred Culver of Lark survive her, also a host of friends. Funeral services were held at the home and at the Lark Hall on Monday afternoon, Rev. F. F. Schwindt of the Seventh Day
Adventist Church of Bismarck officiating. The deceased being a devout member of the church. A special choir from Bismarck sang at the services and funeral was conducted by mister Perry of the Perry Undertaking Department of Bismarck. The services were attended by a large number of friends, one of the largest attended funerals ever held in Lark. The pallbearers, who were neighbors and friends were Wm. Chesrown, John McCraith, W. D. Bruington, Chris Rossum, Chas. Pfliiger, and Wm. Owens.
