The views at Barron Gorge just west of Cairns were spectacular.
The next photos were taken on the diving/snorkeling trip on a Deep Sea Diver Den boat to the Great Barrier Reef. We had an overnight trip on the boat- I was so discouraged by the graveyard scene of a dead reef that I didn't even go snorkeling the second day. Some reef fish but not the flora and fauna of a healthy reef. The fact that the diving boat did not have a naturalist on board said much.
The final photos include one from an Aboriginal cemetery and then of the red soil and large sugar cane plantings, with associated railroad to carry the harvested cane to the mill.
